Mignon Palmer Flack Hale has been a substitute teacher for the Howard County Public School System in Columbia, MD from 2012 to the present.

With more than 50 years of professional experience, Mrs. Hale has been a substitute teacher for the Howard County Public School System in Columbia, MD from 2012 to the present. Prior to obtaining her current role, she was an elementary teacher with the Cherry Hills Public Schools in New Jersey from 1990 to 1994 and an elementary teacher and resource teacher for the gifted and talented with Howard County Public Schools from 1977 to 1990. Earlier in her career, Mrs. Hale was director of her Home Day Care Center in Columbia from 1973 to 1977 and an elementary teacher with the District of Columbia Public Schools from 1968 to 1971.

Mrs. Hale began her career as a student at District of Columbia Teachers College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1966. She continued her studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she earned a Master of Science in 1977. Following these accomplishments, she completed postgraduate coursework at the University of Connecticut, Rowan University in New Jersey and Ashland University in Ohio. Mrs. Hale is a retired certified teacher in Maryland and New Jersey in supervision, reading and special education. In the summer in 1983, she studied hospice care in Kensington, England and completed her field work in Denny, Scotland.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Hale has been recognized for her contributions. She was notably named First Lady of Wright State University from 1994 to 1998. While at Wright State University, she was a Board Member of The Muse Machine, The Dayton Museum of Discovery, the Dayton Opera Guild and Friends of the Wright State University Library. In light of all her accomplishments, Mrs. Hale has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.

Mrs. Hale has two sons, Oliver Shelton Palmer, II and Michael Scott Palmer/ Her granddaughters are Ashley Elizabeth Palmer and Rebecca LaRue Palmer.
