Dr. Frank W. Isele has been a clinical psychologist and director/owner of Adirondack Psychological Health Services in Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs, NY, since 1983.

Dr. Isele has been a clinical psychologist and director/owner of Adirondack Psychological Health Services in Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs, NY, since 1983. He has also been maintaining a clinical consultantship at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany in the departments of clinical and counseling psychology since 1974. Dr. Isele performs regular forensic psychological evaluations of criminal offenders in consultation for their attorneys and the courts. He was also a founder and co-principal of the National Council for Sports Medicine Education from 1999 to 2004.

Formerly spending 10 years in part-time private practice in Saratoga Springs from 1973 to 1983, Dr. Isele was also a clinical psychologist and Director of Child and Adolescent Services from 1979 to 1983 and staff psychologist from 1971 to 1979 at the Warren-Washington County Community Mental Health Center, in Glen Falls, New York. He taught as a clinical assistant professor of psychology at SUNY Albany between 1973 and 1984 and was an instructor in psychiatry at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York during the academic year 1973-1974.

Simultaneously serving as a consultant psychologist for the New York State Department of Social Services Bureau of Disabilities Determinations in Albany from 1977-1984 and the Marriage Tribunal with the Diocese of Albany from 1977 to 1989, Dr. Isele was also a panel psychologist for the New York State Office for Vocational Rehabilitation in Albany from 1977 to 1989. Additionally, he has been a psychologist for the New York States Workers Compensation Board since 1991.

Dr. Isele has authored numerous articles in various peer-reviewed journals such as the New Jersey Education Association Review, Aches and Pains, the New York State Journal of Medicine and the Journal of Projective Techniques and Personality Assessment. He contributed a chapter "Biofeedback and Hypnosis: Multifaceted Approaches in the Management of Pain" in the 1990 edited two volume book Chronic Pain and was responsible for performing a forensic psychological evaluation that was cited extensively by the Court of Appeals in 2010. An article about this decision was published in the Harvard Law Review which has resulted in continued forensic referrals for him. Dr. Isele also co-authored the publication Certified Professional Trainer (CProT) Fitness and Wellness Certification Course Manual in 2003.

Dr. Isele is a longstanding member of multiple professional psychological organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Divisions of Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Psychologists in Independent Practice, Exercise and Sport Psychology and the Division of Psychopharmacology, the National Register for Health Service Psychologists, the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, the American Association of Behavioral Therapists and the Academy of Certified Neurotherapists. A Fellow and Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians, he is also a Fellow of the American College of Advanced Practice Psychologists.

Dr. Isele has been honored with an Outstanding Pioneer Leadership Award by the Prescribing Psychologists Register and as a Platinum Registrant of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology in 1994. In civic activity, Dr. Isele received the Clarkson B. Farnsworth Award for Educational Excellence from the Mohawk-Hudson Sail and Power Squadron in 2010. While serving as Educational Officer, his squadron has also received the Prince Henry the Navigator Award for the Mohawk Hudson Sail and Power Squadron and twice received an N Club Award from the United States Power Squadrons. He has been cited in the first edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the third edition of Who's Who among Human Services Professionals.

A member since 2000 and currently a lieutenant commander with the Mohawk Hudson Sail and Power Squadron of the U.S. Power Squadrons, Dr. Isele is the squadron education officer and certified instructor and has been in this role since 2011. He teaches navigation, junior navigation and weather for boaters. The United States Power Squadrons is a non-profit educational organization that was founded in 1914 and seeks to educate boaters, promoting maritime safety and enjoyability through classes in seamanship, navigation and other related subjects.

Dr. Isele has been keenly interested in how the brain functions since the age of 14, when he recalls making a clay model of the brain for a science fair project. Since then, he knew that he wanted to pursue a career involving the brain and behavior, specifically psychological health. Later, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Seton Hall University in 1966, he then earned a Master of Arts in clinical psychology, magna cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1969 and a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical psychology from the University of Montana in 1971. He is a licensed clinical and counseling psychologist in the state of New York, listed in the National Register of Heath Service Psychologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management. He is also a Diplomate and Fellow in Psychopharmacology through the Prescribing Psychologists Register.
