Mr. Stevenson maintained a private practice as a school psychologist in Greeley, CO, from 1994-2003. He is also a retired public school psychologist of 30 years. Initially working for Jefferson County Public Schools in Golden, CO, in 1975, he later worked for the Weld County School District #6 in Greeley and the Weld Board of Cooperative Education Services in LaSalle, CO. Hired by the Fort Lupton School District in Fort Lupton, CO, in 1995, he served three years as a psychologist before becoming the district's coordinator of the special education and gifted programs. Just prior to that, from 1994-1995, he also served as a special education coordinator for the Weld Board of Cooperative Services. Mr. Stevenson then spent the last three years of his career as the director of exceptional student services for the Fort Lupton-Keenesburg Consortium between 2000 and 2003.
A longtime member of the National Association of School Psychologists, during Mr. Stevenson's tenure with the organization, he served as an alternate delegate for the Colorado chapter and as director of the Apple II users' group for the Association. He is also a member and former secretary of the Jefferson County Psychologists Association and member, former convention chair and former preschool assessment task force chair of the Colorado Society of School Psychologists. Furthermore, he is a past member of the American Psychotherapy Association, the Council of Administrators of Special Education, the Council for Exceptional Children, the Colorado Association of School Executives and the Association of Play Therapy, Inc., among other organizations.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Mr. Stevenson was the assistant coach and head coach for Young American Baseball in Greeley. He was also an assistant basketball coach for the Recreation League for sixth and seventh grade.
Mr. Stevenson was a 1974 University of Northern Colorado scholar. He has been cited in approximately a dozen editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who's Who in the West. He notably holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Specialist in Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado, earned between 1971 and 1975. He has been a diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association, licensed elementary school counselor and school psychologist in Colorado, and a nationally certified school psychologist.
Married to Alice M. Paolucci with two children and two grandchildren, Mr. Stevenson enjoys spending time with family. He also loves attending sporting events and plays, as well as reading, listening to music and traveling.
