Leonard Alvin Dale Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Dale has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of religious services

OLATHE, KS, May 22, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Leonard Alvin Dale with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Dale celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a recognized member of the community Mr. Dale served as a pastor at several congregations. Beginning his career as an associate pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church in Ferguson, Mo in 1975, he went on to become founding pastor of Hope Lutheran in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and then to Trinity Lutheran in Great Bend, Kansas. While in Minnesota he served as chaplain at Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center from 1977-1988. He became Mission Director for region 4b of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1997 and later became Associate to the Bishop of the Central States Synod for stewardship and mission. Most recently he was Director of Evangelical Mission in the Central States Synod from 2009-2016. He also served for a short while as interim director of the Lutheran Service Center in Olongopo City, Philippines.

A former instructor of political science at Fergus Falls Community College from 1985-1988, Mr. Dale was also a guest lecturer at Larned State Hospital in Larned, Kansas. While in Minnesota he was a regular speaker on the radio program, "The Morning Watch". He was also a member of the research team for the 2004 book "Discovering Hope". On a local level, Mr. Dale has been active in many organizations serving as founding chair of New Life for Teen Parents, chair of Barton County Young Men's Organization, president of the Great Bend Ministerial Alliance and a treasurer of the Fergus Falls Noon Rotary.

As Mission Director Mr. Dale supervised the start of 20 new faith communities in Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. He spent 8 years working with the Partnership for the Missional Church to implement a three-year deepening of the community identity in congregations. He oversaw the funding and placement for Chinese Ethiopian, Sudanese, Hispanic, and Laotian church communities in region 4b of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. As a result of his work with immigrants he spent a considerable amount of time traveling the world. He has been a board member or Wittenberg English Ministry since 2015. He also served on several local synod teams and committees such as the synod youth team and the synod task force on sexuality.

One of the best times in Mr. Dale's career came when he was involved in a faith based community development project in Russia. Traveling across Russia on the trans-Siberian railway, he was accompanied by a translator and was often times the only westerner on the train. The two of them stayed with local families and roomed with fascinating people throughout the journey. For excellence in his career, he was honored with inclusion in the fourth edition of Who's Who in religion. Notably, Mr. Dale has held an Associate in Arts Degree from St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas since 1969, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia Sr. College Ft. Wayne Indiana since 1971, and a Master of Divinity Degree from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago since 1975. He attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri from 1971-1973 and Christ Seminary Seminex from 1974-75.

Born in Norfolk, Nebraska, Mr. Dale was initially inspired to work in the church by his father who was also a pastor. Watching him and his colleagues was both inspiring and uplifting. Happily married to his wife, Anne Catherine Taylor since 1971, he is the proud father of three children and grandfather to five grandchildren. In his free time Mr. Dale enjoys cooking, biking, travel, and working in the garden.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Dale has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
