As a dedicated educator, Rosa M.O. Jackson, MEd has been most grateful for the moments in her accomplished career when she was able to see her own impact in students' lives.

Mrs. Jackson was influenced to pursue a career in education because of her own experience in elementary school. She was mentored by her third grade teacher, E.D. Robinson, and her fifth grade teacher, Othalia Brown, who both inspired her to follow the path to education. In 1966, she received a Bachelor of Arts from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, and in 1981, she received a Master of Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. She began her career as a fifth grade teacher for the Lancaster County Board of Education in Kershaw, South Carolina. Mrs. Jackson also served as a second grade teacher for the McDuffie County Board of Education in Thomson, Georgia, and a first, second and fifth grade teacher for the Richmond County Board of Education in Augusta, Georgia, before retiring in 2002.
Since her retirement, Mrs. Jackson has returned to the Richmond County School System, volunteering as a teacher in her daughter's classroom. As a dedicated educator, she has been most grateful for the moments in her accomplished career when she was able to see her own impact in students' lives. Civically, she served as a science teacher in residence and president of the Reese Memorial Singers and she was an art teacher at the Vacation Bible School of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson has been honored with a Service Recognition Award from Antioch Baptist Church and the AARP Service Award.
In order to remain abreast of developments in her field and in her community, Mrs. Jackson has maintained affiliation with the Georgia Association of Educators, the National Education Association, the National Science Teachers Association, the Georgia Science Teachers Association, the Georgia Staff Development Council, the Association for Multicultural Science Education, the Nurses Guild and AARP. In her spare time, she enjoys flower decorating, sewing, singing and cosmetology. Mrs. Jackson also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, Jalen and Zaniyah.
