Donald Robert Kimball Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Donald Kimball is proud of aiding in the elimination of the use of antibiotics in milk throughout the state of Indiana.

An accomplished listee, Mr. Kimball celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Exposed to the dairy industry from a young age, Mr. Kimball spent his summers on his grandfather's dairy farm throughout his youth. Maintaining an interest in the field, he enrolled at Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture in 1960. Thereafter, he became involved in regulatory practices, serving as a public health sanitarian in the division of dairy products for the Indiana Board of Health in 1962, a role he held for four years. At the Indiana Board of Health, he later ascended to the posts of the milk sanitation rating officer from 1966 to 1975, the chief milk sanitation rating officer from 1973 to 1975, and the director from 1975 to 1987. Relocating to Rockford, IL, Mr. Kimball excelled as the director of regulatory affairs of the Dean Foods Company for the following 13 years until his retirement in 2000, during which time he also worked as the longtime director of farm relations from 1990 to 1998.

During his tenure with the Indiana Board of Health, Mr. Kimball discovered that several silos throughout the state were shedding a harmful chemical that was affecting cattle and consumers using milk. Demonstrating his efficiency in the field, he resolved the issue within a timely manner. Mr. Kimball is also proud of aiding in the elimination of the use of antibiotics in milk throughout the state of Indiana.

To remain aware of developments in the field, Mr. Kimball maintains his affiliation with numerous organizations, including the International Association for Food Protection and the National Conference of Interstate Milk Shipments, where he was appointed to numerous executive committees. Likewise, he was a member of the Association of Food and Drug Officials, the Dairy Practices Council, the Conference for Food Protection, the Illinois Food Safety Task Force, and lifetime member of The Dairy Shrine. On a local level, Mr. Kimball is associated with the American Legion.

An author of many articles published in professional journals, Mr. Kimball is a veteran of the United States Army, serving to the rank of captain prior to his honorable discharge in 1968. As a testament to his profound success, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Midwest Dairy Products Association in 1988. Notably, Mr. Kimball was also featured in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World.

Mr. Kimball was married to Mari-Anne Talbot Kimball until her death on 4/6/1985. He has a son named Douglas R. Kimball, step sons James R. Waters, Richard D. Waters, David G. Waters, and step daughter Sharon Lee Santos. He also has eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
