HONOLULU, HI, June 10, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Barry Menikoff, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Menikoff celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With over 55 years of experience in the world of English education, Dr. Menikoff has been a professor emeritus of the University of Hawaii since his retirement in 2010. He took his first steps in academia at Brooklyn College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1960. Moving west, he continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin, obtaining a Master of Science in 1962 and, with further determination and drive, a Doctor of Philosophy in 1966. By this time, he had already begun to affiliate with the University of Hawaii, where he was appointed as a professor for much of the rest of his career. Dr. Menikoff continued to travel widely during his tenure, delivering Fulbright lectures at the University of Santiago in Spain in 1968, and serving as a visiting professor at other institutions worldwide.

Adjacent to his academic career, Dr. Menikoff is a prolific author, having penned several well-received books on the life and times of 19th century author Robert Lewis Stevenson. He also wrote a memoir titled "Stone Mother: A Brooklyn Life" in 2018, and has contributed more of his literary talent by writing articles for professional publications and chapters to books throughout the span of his professional endeavors. A shining example of excellence in the literary trade, Dr. Menikoff is a recognized fellow at multiple libraries throughout the United States, including the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, the Newberry Library in Chicago, and the Clark Library in Los Angeles. When he is not putting pen to paper, he fondly indulges in past times such as running and horseback riding.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Menikoff has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
