Alongside his primary career endeavors, Robert B. Young has served as an adjunct professor of insurance law with Wesley College in Dover since 1993.

After graduating from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with Bachelor of Arts in 1965, Mr. Young attended Ohio State University in Columbus, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1969. Shortly after, he was admitted to practice in Ohio, and began his career with Young & Alexander, in Dayton, from 1969 to 1975. Then, moving to Delaware, and being admitted to practice in 1975, he began his own private practice in Dover from 1975 to 1997, when he was joined by his son to form Young & Young from 1998 to 2005. He was then appointed Judge of the Delaware Superior Court, where he served until 2017. He then returned to private practice in Dover, as Of Counsel with Reger, Rizzo & Darnell. Mr. Young has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio, the Supreme Court of Delaware, the United States Supreme Court, the Southern District of Ohio, the District of Delaware and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. In the course of his practice, he has tried well over 100 cases to a jury verdict, becoming a Diplomate in the American Board of Trial Advocates, and has presided over 200 cases to jury verdict as Superior Court Judge.

Alongside his primary career endeavors, Mr. Young has served as an adjunct professor of insurance law with Wesley College in Dover since 1993. Earlier in his career, he was an adjunct professor of business law with Delaware Community College from 1975 to 1979 and the president of the Overseas Fiber Export Corp. from 1978 to 1995. In an effort to remain up to date with developments in his field, Mr. Young maintains affiliation with the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Defense Trial Advocates and the Terry-Carey American Inn of Court.

An accomplished writer, Mr. Young is the author of the light verse/text book "Grappling with Grammar", and musical comedies, produced biennially, raising funds for the Combined Campaign for Justice, including: Macbeth: a Family Musical; A Tale of Two Cities: The Rock Opera; Moby Dick: the Maritime Musicale; An American Tragedy: a Comedy; Madame Bovary: Ho, Ho, Ho; The Crucible: Plymouth Rocks; The Public Enemy: Runnin' Wild; The Tennessee Waltz: Suddenly, a Tattooed Cat on a Glass Streetcar. Also heavily involved with his local community, he has been active with the Dover Little League and many Boards. Outside of his career, he enjoys youth sports and creative writing. Looking towards the future, he hopes to continue his career in law.
