Fred M. Perilstein Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Perilstein with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Perilstein celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Mr. Perilstein has excelled as an electrical engineer for nearly five decades, with his most recent role being a consultant for Envar Services Inc., since 1997. Prior to this engagement, he served as president of Tramlec Corporation in Springfield, New Jersey, between 1982 and 1997, having worked as an independent consultant in the field from 1978 to 1982. At the beginning of his career, he was hired by the Substation Switchgear Engineering Division of the Federal Pacific Electric Corporation in Newark, New Jersey, as an applications engineer of between 1972 and 1978.

As a consultant with Tramlec Corporation, Mr, Perilstein was a substation construction supervisor with the PATH Division of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 1989 to 1991 in Jersey City, NJ, and a switchgear design engineer for ABB Turbines in North Brunswick, NJ from 1991 to 1993.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Perilstein earned a Bachelor of Science inE from the City College of New York in 1968. A short time later, he secured a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering in 1972. He concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1977. A registered professional engineer, he is registered in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, California and Texas.

Other career-related endeavors to his credit include working as a seminar instructor for the Multi-AMP Conference in Springfield, New Jersey, as well as a lecturer for the ASME/IEEE Joint Railroad Conference in Chicago, Boston and Newark. An expert in the field, he has contributed articles to the publications IEEE Transactions in Communications, Consulting-Specifying Engineer and the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Magazine. He is also a holder of a U.S. patent for a Polyphase Variable Frequency Inverter.

Mr. Perilstein is a former United States Army Reserve Specialist E-5, having served from 1968 and 1974 as a construction surveyor. For his achievements throughout his career, he was honored as a Regents Scholar by the New York Board of Regents in 1963 and was the recipient of a third place trophy from the World Wide Inventor Exposition in 1982. He has been a member of the rail transit vehicle interface standards committee of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers since 1996.
