Virginia Gobeli Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    DENVER, CO, July 09, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Dr. Gobeli with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Gobeli celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Now retired, Dr. Gobeli accrued many years of experience as a national program leader. Her most recent position was – National 4-H Development Program at the Cooperative States Research, Education and Extension Service in the US Department of Agriculture from 1990 – 2002. She was a 4-H Youth Development Specialist at the Cooperative Extension Service for the University of Nebraska from 1983 to 1990. During her tenure with the aforementioned institution, she held the posts of a State 4-H Youth Development Specialist in Reno, Nevada, and Amherst, Massachusetts, between 1969 and 1981, and Extension Home Economist for the University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension.

Moreover, Dr. Gobeli was active with the American Dairy Association in Springfield, Massachusetts as a dairy food publicist from 1969 to 1972. She was further associated with New York Hospital-Cornell Medicine Center as a dietetic intern and staff administrative dietitian. Other professional endeavors to Dr. Gobeli's credit include serving as Youth Development consultant for the Food and Agriculture of the United Nations, International Republican Institute in Uzbeckistan and US Aid in Indonisia and South Africa. After retiring, she was the State Advisor for Families, Career and Community Leaders of America.

A graduate of Salve Regina University, Dr. Gobeli initially earned a Bachelor of Arts from the aforementioned institute in 1964. Soon thereafter, she obtained a Master of Arts from the University of Rhode Island in 1972. Dr. Gobeli concluded her studies with a Doctor of Education from Boston University in 1989.

A member of the Fine Arts Board for the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Gobeli has been involved with the Glocester Rhode Island Historical Society and the International Advisory Council for Rural Youth. A respected voice in the field, she has additionally contributed articles to professional journals. In order to remain current with trends in the industry, she has maintained her affiliation with the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, the Association of Leadership Educators, the Society for International Development, and Epsilon Sigma Phi. She has been rercognized for her work by the National Association of 4-H Youth Development with Distinguished Service award and was inducted in to the National 4-H Hall of fame in 2003. For her accomplishments in the field, Dr. Gobeli has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of the Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in the World.
