Constance Bivens Celebrates Many Years of Professional Excellence in Education

Now that she is retired, Dr. Constance Bivens maintains her involvement in various endeavors through the First Christian Church and Ivy Tech College.

    MADISON, IN, July 11, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Constance Bivens has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Drawing upon more than 35 years of industry experience, Constance A. Bivens, EdD, is a respected educator who served Broward County Public Schools at the inception of her career in 1960, as well as at the conclusion of her career in 1997. In between her responsibilities at the Florida school district, she also served as a teacher at Jefferson County Schools and Fort Knox Schools in Kentucky, as well as Madison Consolidated Schools in Indiana. In addition, she previously acted as a consultant in the field and chairman of the K-Adult Council for Nova Schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the 1970s.

Dr. Bivens earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from the Peabody College of Education and Human Development at the Peabody College of Education and Human Development now in Vanderbilt University, and a Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the National Education Association and Alpha Epsilon, the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She attended the World Confederation of Organizations of the Teaching Professions and was a member of the American Association of University Women until the it disorganized in Madison. She is also a member of Alpha Epsilon, the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Now that she is retired, Dr. Bivens maintains her involvement in various endeavors through the First Christian Church and Ivy Tech College.

For her outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Bivens was presented with the Sara Ferguson Achievement Award from Delta Kappa Gamma. Likewise, she has been recognized in publications such as Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in America Education, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who of American Women. She has also been eponymously honored with the Virginia Nelson and Constance Bivens Scholarship at Ivy Tech College, to which she additionally contributes as a fundraiser. Looking toward the future, Dr. Bivens intends to continue her exemplary efforts with her church as well as providing scholarships for those that cannot afford to attend college.
