Ms. Capezio is a retired medical/surgical nurse who celebrated many years in the field before retiring in 2006. Formerly affiliated with Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, she worked on the medical/surgical unit and in outpatient surgery. Before retirement, Ms. Capezio was a staff nurse at Stella Maris Hospice in Towson, Maryland.

Recognized for founding the Pennsylvania-Mar Human Services, Ms. Capezio helped along with a small group of parents designed the organization to provide residential and daytime services for the mentally disabled in southern Pennsylvania and northern Baltimore County. Outside of her work with the organization, she has been affiliated as a member of Sigma Theta Tau.

Ms. Capezio first acquired a diploma at Mercy Hospital in 1958. She then attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990. Ms. Capezio is a registered nurse in Maryland. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Capezio has been featured in the fourth and fifth editions of Who's Who in American Nursing and the 25th edition of Who's Who of American Women.

Born in Baltimore, Ms. Capezio decided to pursue a career in nursing after admiring a local nurse as a child who lived in her neighborhood. Afforded the opportunity to live out her dream in health care, it has been a very rewarding experience. Formerly married to the late Marion James Capezio, Ms. Capezio is the mother of six sons and grandmother of 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
