A corporate executive for many years, Rodney "Rod" Borum retired as the executive vice president and the chief financial officer of Pearl of Virginia, Inc.

A corporate executive for many years, Mr. Borum retired as the executive vice president and the chief financial officer of Pearl of Virginia, Inc. Working in similar capacities since 1985, he formerly worked for General Electric as an engineer, the Business and Defense Services Administration as administrator, and Printing Industries of America as the president for 17 years, and the executive committee member. Mr. Borum has continued to find success as a corporate management consultant since 1990.

Mr. Borum also provided his expertise in several other capacities, including as a program manager for the presidential campaign for Barry Goldwater, as the director for Inter-Comprint Ltd., and an operations manager for COVIX. During his affiliation with GE, Mr. Borum, who originally worked as a design-development engineer in Syracuse, New York, became a missile test conductor for the aforementioned organization in Cape Kennedy, testing radar equipment and various missile range related instruments for the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Borum subsequently maintained involvement as a general manager of GE installation faculties in central Florida and for the Atlantic Missile Range.

Studying at the University of North Carolina between 1947 and 1949, Mr. Borum later received a bachelor's degree at the U.S. Naval Academy in 1953. He then served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 until 1956. Mr. Borum is a member of the U.S. Naval Institute, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association, and Phi Eta Sigma. He is also a member and a past board director of the Graphic Arts Council of North America.

Involved with a broad range of charitable and civic organizations in Florida, Mr. Borum served as a U.S. House of Representatives candidate for the 11th district, as the vice president of the Brevard County United Fund, and on the board of directors of the Brevard Beaches Concert Association. He also served as a trustee and the founder of the Graphic Arts Education and Research Trust Fund in Arlington, Virginia, and on the education council board of directors of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation in Pittsburgh. Most notably, Mr. Borum was active as the chairman of the U.S. War Planning Board in the Lyndon Johnson administration.

Named Boss of the Year by his local Chamber of Commerce in 1965, Mr. Borum was previously honored with an American Legion Award in 1952, an Archibald Henderson Medal in 1949, and a Bausch + Lomb Science Award in 1947. Moreover, he was recognized with a Guggenheim Jet Propulsion Fellowship in 1954. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Borum has been featured in close to 50 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who in the World.
