He is the former Managing Partner of the Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP's Atlanta office and served for many years on the firm's management committee. Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Sullivan was a partner with Clark Hill PLC in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked for 20 years. He has served as National, Regional and Local Counsel for multiple Fortune 500 companies.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1981, Mr. Sullivan obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Boston College Law School in 1984.
Subsequently, he was admitted to practice through the Georgia Bar Association, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Claims. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Automotive Manufacturers Association.
Mr. Sullivan has contributed to a plethora of articles, conference papers, and presentations throughout his career. Among these creative endeavors, he wrote "Risk Management/Proactive Actions" for the American Home Furnishing Association and "Changing Times, New Opportunities: What Buyers of Legal Services Need to Know About Changes in the Client-Attorney Dynamic." Moreover, Mr. Sullivan penned "Right to Die: An Update," which was featured in The Journal of the Michigan Pharmacists Association, and "Best Practices and Risk Management: Patent Trolls, New Regulation and Tort Risks," which he presented at the Nanotechnology Commercialization Conference in 2013.
For his professional accomplishments, Mr. Sullivan has been the recipient of numerous accolades. In particular, he was honored as a Super Lawyer every year between 2012 and 2018.
