Ms. Williams is a retired assistant nursing professor at Hagerstown Community College in Maryland. Hired in 2003, during her last eight years as a faculty member she maintained a 100% pass rate with students on their licensed practical nursing boards on the first try. She also spent a year and a half at City Hospital (now known as Berkeley Medical Center, a part of West Virginia University) as a clinical educator in the emergency department. Outside of Ms. Williams' career in education, she enjoyed 37 years as an emergency staff nurse at Winchester Memorial Hospital (now known as Winchester Medical Center) in Winchester, Virginia, between 1969 and 2006. She started out as a LPN and obtained licensure in 1967.
A celebrated figure in health care, Ms. Williams has contributed chapters to multiple nursing textbooks. She was also active with several industry-related organizations, including the Emergency Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, which is the second-largest nursing organization in the world. Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Williams first earned an Associate of Science in nursing at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, in 1991, followed by a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Science in nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, in 1996 and 2003, respectively.
For excellence in her career, Ms. Williams has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades over the years. Notably, she was recognized with a Community Health Award from her alma mater, George Mason University, in 1996. A celebrated Marquis listee for all her accomplishments, Ms. Williams has previously been featured in the 64th and 65th editions of Who's Who in America.
