Macinick with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Macinick celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. With almost 40 years of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Macinick was the head of reference for information literacy and government information at the Greenley Library at Farmingdale State College, State University of New York from 1994 to 2015. Within that time, he also served as the head of government documents for the library. Previously, he excelled as the assistant librarian at Touro College between 1997 and 2006 after completing his responsibilities as the assistant librarian at Greenley Library from 1991 until 1992. Mr. Macinick began his career as a reference librarian for the Engineering Societies Library in New York in 1978. He has since worked as the senior librarian for the Kings Park Psychiatric Center from 1982 to 1991.

In addition to these professional achievements, Mr. Macinick contributed to the editorial staff for AITIA Philosophy-Humanities Magazine from 2002 to 2015. Previously, he found success as a consultant for the Farmingdale Department of English and Humanities Writing Guidebook from 1997 to 2000. Until his retirement, Mr. Macinick offered his skill and knowledge as a lecturer and instructor for the Institute of Learning in Retirement since 1997. Moreover, Mr. Macinick has assisted in various fundraisers for Circle Oakhaven in Shirley, New York.

Prior to embarking on his career path, Mr. Macinick pursued an education at Queensborough Community College, earning an Associate of Arts in 1969. Through the course of his studies, he traveled abroad and attended the University of Bologna in Italy from 1969 to 1970. Mr. Macinick completed additional coursework at Queens College, City University of New York and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1972 and a Master of Library Science in 1975. Mr. Macinick concluded his academic studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, from which he graduated with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies in 1996. He is a certified library professional in the state of New York.

An expert in his field, Mr. Macinick has been affiliated with the State University of New York Libraries Association, the Long Island Library Resources Council, the Suffolk County Library Association, and the Medical and Scientific Libraries of Long Island. Having contributed widely to journals and professional publications, he is the author of "Freeway or Tollway: The Internet and Academic Libraries," Strategies for Burnout Prevention in the Mental Health Setting," and "Commercialization and Privatization of the Internet: A Threat to Libraries" in "Libraries and Associations in the Transient World: New Technologies and New Forms of Cooperation," among other titles. The recipient of the Cares Award from Farmingdale State College and Certificates of Appreciation from the Institute of Learning in Retirement, Mr. Macinick completed military service in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1972 to 1978.
