Mr. Seifman, a personal injury, discrimination and estate planning attorney in Farmington Hills, has been licensed in his field for nearly 50 years. In private practice since 1973, he formerly served and later as the partner at Berry, Hopson, Francis and Seifman in Dearborn, between 1972 and 1998. Additionally, he has served as the city attorney for Woodhaven and Romulus, an assistant city attorney for Dearborn Heights and Garden City, a mediator and a public administrator for Oakland County, and a mediator in Wayne County. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Seifman found success as a claims representative for both Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Traveler's Insurance Company.
Lending his expertise over the years as a former guest speaker at the Detroit Business Institute and as a lecturer at Monteith College in the area of tort law, Mr. Seifman enjoys giving back to his community. He is a panel member for the State Grievance Commission. Among other industry related organizations, he is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. Locally, Mr. Seifman has volunteered his time as a past president of the Southfield Little League, a past trustee of the Southfield Baseball Association and as a manager in the Farmington Little League.
An alumnus of Wayne State University, Mr. Seifman received a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. Concluding his education in 1972, he graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Seifman was subsequently admitted to practice law by the Michigan Bar Association, the Eastern and Western Districts of the U.S. District Court of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Seifman is the author of "So You Want to be a Lawyer: The Experiences of a Trial Lawyer: good, bad, funny and frightening for those thinking of becoming a lawyer or just curious. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Seifman has been cited in Who's Who in American and Who's Who in American Law. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he was happily married to his wife, the late Marcia Kirschbaum, from 1966 to 2012. Together, they are the parents of two wonderful children and four fabulous grandchildren. He since has been married to Barbara Fiorini since 2016.
