The low point in Tarkan's life was when he was diagnosed with tinnitus after an international flight to Istanbul. Tinnitus is an incurable disease, and from that point on, Tarkan has heard a constant tea-kettle sound in his right ear. At the beginning of 2018, Tarkan came up with the idea of streaming nature sounds via a Bluetooth earpiece to get through the day. Since Tarkan was able to get a relief with that idea, in the summer of 2018, he came up with seven more revolutionary ideas, all of which he immediately patented.
Between 2017 and 2019, Tarkan filed for seven patents, three of which were approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Protection Agency (USTPA), with others pending.
The first approved patent is called the Smart Safe. The primary safety feature of the Smart Safe is a "smart start system," which prevents the car from starting while the driver's phone is unsecured. In 2020, Tarkan was granted a patent for a revolutionary advertising concept called "moving3dhologramad". moving3dhologramad is a revolutionary advertising concept. The main idea of this concept is a hologram Ad displayed on top of any object that moves such as a taxi, ferry, train and even a flying taxi set to debut in the future. Tarkan married his wife Viktoriya in 2005. The couple have a daughter, Aryanna, and a son, Adryan. Tarkan credits most of his success to his wife's support. Tarkan also enjoys hobbies such as boating, tennis, and basketball. Tarkan resides in the Upper East Side during the week, and at his house in Southampton on the weekends.
Tarkan's motivation is to have a positive impact on the world. Thus far, he has achieved this by making the venue affordable to non-profit charities looking to raise money for a good cause.
