JEFFERSON CITY, MO, September 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mickey Gage has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Gage began showing an interest in tennis as it was becoming popular at the time. Over the years, he grew in the sport, learning and keeping up with changing techniques as he played the tournament circuits. Whether he won or lost, Mr. Gage would assess the shortcomings he had in each tournament and work to overcome them.

Between the late 1980s and 2015, Mr. Gage vacationed at Hilton Head Island, where he worked with professionals at Dennis VanDerMeer Tennis Facility, where he would foster his natural ability to become a winning tennis player. Today, he serves as a tennis instructor for JCYMCA, teaching tennis to groups of all ages. Due to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Gage was featured in the article "Tennis Coach, 74, has 'game for life'" in the Jefferson City News Tribune in 2018.

Backed by nearly 45 years of practiced experience in the sport, Mr. Gage prides himself on remaining current regarding new teaching methods and sports practices. When he first started playing tennis, the forehand maneuver's follow-through was finished with arms in front of you, but now players are taught to follow through all the way around. If he doesn't keep current, Mr. Gage believes his students aren't getting the full breadth of his professional skill.

In the late 1990s, Mr. Gage was recognized as the National State Games of America Champion. Additionally, he was ranked #1 in the Missouri Valley between 2011 and 2012, as well as 2014. In the coming years, Mr. Gage intends to remain up-to-date on the latest tennis teaching methods.
