Jacqueline C. Mohen Celebrated for Dedication to Pushing Boundaries in the Fields of Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Chemical Research

"Professor J" has been blazing trails in applied computational chemistry for pharmaceutical and cosmetic color additive research since her Rowan University days, and has actively passed on her love of the profession by teaching the next generation.

An expert in her field, Professor Jacqueline C. Mohen built her repertoire of skills throughout the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

MOORESTOWN, NJ, October 21, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jacqueline C. Mohen, or "Professor J", has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A degreed chemist, mathematician, and textile designer, Professor J has combined her strong foundations in applied mathematics and science with sharp conceptual and product development skills honed in order to make appreciable contributions to scientific fields that pertain to the global fast-paced textile and personal care product industries. She has excelled as a Research Fellow at Rowan University, where she conducts applied chemical research to merge both experimental and computational methods to analyze large color molecules to determine their absorbance spectral properties in solution. Detailed accounts of her intriguing computational analyses of several color additive molecules can be found in "Investigating Color Additive Molecules for Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Applications: A Comparison of Theoretical and Experimental UV-Visible Absorbance Spectra in Tunable Solvents", her Master of Science thesis currently pending publication.

An expert in her field, Professor J built her repertoire of skills throughout the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. She began her consumer products product development training as a student of the world-renowned Philadelphia University, and finished with a Bachelor of Science in Textile Design and a Minor in Mathematics in 2014. By graduation, she had independently created countless unique textile collections for use in the fashion and interior design fabric industries. However, while holding a position at Bradlee International Ltd., a global fabric sourcing company serving ready-to-wear fashion label clients in New York City's Fashion District, she learned that fashion designers were no longer just scratching the surface of fabric design—rather, they were becoming interested in customizing their fabric developments at the atomic level, including choosing dyes, surface finishes, and applied textural elements. Being young and ambitious, Professor J returned to school to study chemistry applicable to beauty that was not only skin deep. From 2015 to 2016, she pursued advanced chemistry courses at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where she fell in love with the artistry of cosmetic science. Inspired by this novel interest in applying color, light, and texture to a different substrate (skin and hair fibers), she accepted a research fellowship at Rowan University in 2016 to study color molecules with widespread use among the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. The rest is history as her detailed accounts of specific color molecules and their solution properties have been presented nationwide at several American Chemical Society meetings and other scientific conventions with global outreach.

Professor J has not pioneered applications of modern technology without supporting others looking to better understand the growing fields of science, technology, mathematics, engineering, design, and pharmaceutics. She uses her multidisciplinary experience to frequently guide students of all ages towards suitable programs for their occupational and intellectual interests. Professor J has also dedicated herself to her community by working as a summer camp counselor and science teacher at the Jersey Shore where she writes specialized laboratory exercises for school-age children. As she relentlessly charges forward, Professor J hopes that the trail she blazes will encourage others to use applied science and design to turn their dreams into reality.
