KRUMVILLE, NY, October 29, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy Schuckman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Schuckman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Schuckman enjoyed a fruitful livelihood as an educational administrator. At the start of her career in 1961, she worked for the New York City Board of Education as a teacher. By 1969, she transitioned to the position of administrator, further progressing to the role of principal in 1977. During this time, she also served on the Elementary School Principals Board of Directors and was very active with the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators, serving as convention chairman for five of those years. Ms. Schuckman was also an educational journalist for the Starrett City Sun, the East New Yorker, and the East New York Development Corp. from 1974 and 1976. In the mid 1970s, she established herself in business as the co-owner of Lanah Educational Toys in Brooklyn. She retired in 1997 after 20 years as principal with a total of 36 years in education.

Ms. Schuckman graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where she was an associate editor and a writer for the Liberty Bell, the school newspaper and the Jeffersonian, the school magazine. She graduated as the number one female athlete at TJHS and was offered athletic/scholastic scholarships but chose to attend Brooklyn College where she earned three letters in sports (basketball, softball and field hockey) as well as a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and a Master of Science just a few years later. She later completed postgraduate coursework at Brooklyn College, Hofstra University, and Columbia University, intermittently from 1965 to 1980.

Beginning in 1961, she and a close friend traveled by car for two summer months through all 48 states, 10 provinces of Canada and Mexico with a two-burner stove, Coca Cola and big straw hatbox filled with dishes, pots and pans. In 1965, the pair traveled by car through 20 countries in Europe. In 1997, they checked Alaska and Hawaii off their bucket list. Later they also visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, South Africa, China and the Middle East for at least one month for each of these trips. With their photography talents, they continuously updated their cameras and photographed their trips, which they shared with relatives, friends and camera club members.

Ms. Schuckman is a former member of the Kings County Democratic Committee, the John F. Kennedy Democratic Club and the Principal's Center at Brooklyn College. In retirement, she was an active member of the Ulster County Democratic Committee from 1998 to 2008 for which she wrote, handled publicity and was involved in campaigns. She met with many national and state politicians and had the opportunity to provide real input. Ms. Schuckman was also an active member of the Broward Camera Club through which she entered competitions and had winning prints and slides.

For her accomplishments in the field, she received a City Council Proclamation from the New York City Council, a Citation from the New York State Assembly, recognition in the Congressional Record of the United States House of Representatives and recognition in the Congressional Record of the United State Congress. Likewise, she has been featured in numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.

These days, Ms. Schuckman pursues various interests including politics, education law, journalism, glass cutting, painting and traveling. She is also still actively involved in golf and tennis -- and has spectator interest in a wide range of sports. She also maintains involvement with the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club in Brooklyn.
