Karen Neubert has been honored to exhibit her work at prestigious art schools and museums.

An accomplished artist, Karen Neubert celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities and her credentials and successes in her field.
A highly regarded and experienced educator and artist, Ms. Neubert began exhibiting her work in group shows in the late 1950s and early '60s. At the same time, she pursued a career in arts education, serving as an art instructor for the Sequoyah School, the Pasadena Art Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) from 1964-68. From 1965-72 she taught and was the Chair of the Art Department for the Westridge School for Girls. In 1977 with the aid of an Artists-in-the-Schools grant, she founded the Children's Art Studio and taught for the Pacific Oaks College and Children's School, where she was Artist-in-Residence, and faculty for twenty years. She was awarded numerous grants from the California Arts Council, for education in the arts.
Even though her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Neubert is proud of receiving the Junior Art Council Award from LACMA in 1959, and a two-person show at the Pasadena Art Museum in 1962. In 2017 she participated in "Now Be Here #1," a Hauser-Wirth gathering of 800 active women artists working in Los Angeles.
Ms. Neubert has been honored to exhibit her work at prestigious art schools and museums. She exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Fine Art, University of California at Davis, had a one woman show at the Women's Building, Los Angeles, exhibited at The Institute of Contemporary Arts (LAICA), and "Expo/International," Museum Regional del Inah, Oaxaca, Mexico. More recently, she participated in national juried and biennial exhibitions at the Luckman Fine Arts Gallery (CSULA), Occidental College, Boston University, and the Berkeley Art Center. In 2018 Ms. Neubert was among printmakers selected for "Air, Water and Earth," at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Fullerton, and "Remembrance: the Faces & Places," at the the historic Southwest Museum. Her work has also been featured in print, in L.A. Rising: SoCal Artists Before 1980, by Lyn Kienholz (2010), and Kindergarten Architecture: Space for the Imagination, by Mark Dudek (1995).
Prior to starting her career in art and education, Ms. Neubert completed coursework in sculpture at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1954. Subsequently, she earned a baccalaureate degree from Stanford University in 1957, a Master of Fine Arts from the Otis College of Art and Design in 1959, and completed graduate studies in education, painting and ceramics at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1960. She maintains professional affiliations with the Arroyo Arts Collective, the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, and the Southern California Women's Caucus for Art. Ms. Neubert was honored with a Purchase Award from the Pasadena Art Museum (1959), and the Golden Crown Award for Arts in Education: Visual Arts from the Pasadena Arts Council (1993).
