Mr. Williams is renowned as a veterinary technician and entrepreneur with more than two decades of expertise in animal care and boarding. His passion began with a childhood love of horses, and he had always aspired to establish his own business working with animals. Mr. Williams notably pursued an education at Mississippi State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in animal and dairy science and a Master of Science in animal science.
Prior to beginning his career in animal boarding, Mr. Williams worked full-time as a veterinary technician to help pay for his education. From 2008 to 2010, he served as a graduate teaching assistant at Mississippi State University. Mr. Williams subsequently found success with PetSmart as a support manager in 2011 and an assistant hotel manager in 2012.
Following these appointments, Mr. Williams managed the PetSmart Pet Hotel from 2014 to 2016, at which point he established the Ruff Country Dog Resort LLC. While equine science remained his first love, he recognized that many more opportunities existed to create a business catering to dogs and dog owners. Ruff Country Dog Resort has flourished as a three and a half-acre dog daycare and boarding facility providing high-quality care to clients in Southwestern Tennessee.
With Ruff Country Dog Resort honored as Memphis' Best Pet Boarding in 2019, Mr. Williams attributes his success to the genuine care and attention that he gives to each canine client, and believes that pet owners can tell that their animals have been in a stimulating, caring and safe environment. He is currently in the process of building an expansion to his current facility in Eads, Tennessee, and hopes to open a second location in the coming years. Certified by the International Boarding and Pet Care Association, Mr. Williams is active in Business Networking International in addition to his local Chamber of Commerce.
