Ambient Edge To Give Free HVAC Tune-Ups For First Responders And Medical Staff Workers

Ambient Edge is proud to provide free HVAC tune-ups to first responders and medical staff workers

KINGMAN, AZ, April 30, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ambient Edge is proud to announce it will be providing limited quantities of free Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system tune-ups to first responders and medical staff working on the front lines battling the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

To express its appreciation, Ambient Edge will donate more than $12,000 worth of free tune-ups to those putting themselves in harm's way to help coronavirus victims.

First responders and medical staff workers often live away from home to be near their patients and to safeguard their families from the disease — the staff at Ambient Edge believes the last thing on their minds should be maintaining their HVAC systems.

Due to stay-at-home orders, shelter-in-place mandates, and self-quarantine instructions, residential air quality is more important than ever. A home's HVAC system is a necessary component of its basic infrastructure and should function properly, especially for those stricken with COVID-19.

What to Expect from an HVAC Tune-Up

A tune-up can help save COVID-19 first responders and medical staff money on energy costs, increase system longevity, and improve indoor air supply quality.

An Ambient Edge NATE-certified technician will perform the following HVAC tune-up services for free:

• Analyze and calibrate the thermostat
• Check all wires for corrosion, dirt, and rust
• Check the refrigerant level and recharge if needed
• Clean and change the air filter
• Inspect duct seal at the unit and secure panels
• Inspect all moving parts
• Inspect the blower assembly
• Inspect the indoor blower and motor for dirt and corrosion
• Lubricate all moving parts
• Monitor the condensate drain
• Review the contactors, relays, and pressure controls
• Test fuses
• Tighten any loose connections
• Visually analyze the outdoor coil

Regularly scheduled heating and air conditioning maintenance can increase indoor comfort and decrease utility costs by keeping crucial components clean and obstruction-free. A properly serviced air conditioner or furnace will boost indoor air quality and deliver superior humidity control.

About COVID-19

Coronaviruses fall into class of ribonucleic acid (RNA) viruses and trigger disease in humans and animals. The Coronavirus name is derived from the corona (or crown-like) stems coating its surface, as seen under a microscope.

There are various kinds of coronaviruses and most people experience a related illness at some point in their lives, usually as children. Coronaviruses are usually mild and can cause upper respiratory tract (nose, sinus, or throat) infections, and most are harmless.

A novel (or new) coronavirus was found in Wuhan China in 2019 and cases were transmitted quickly across the globe, eventually reaching the U.S. The World Health Organization (WHO) labeled this novel coronavirus 'COVID-19' — 'CO' stands for 'corona,' 'VI' for 'virus,' and 'D' represents disease — in February 2020. COVID-19 continues to spread worldwide, infecting the population at a disturbing rate.

Coronavirus symptoms may include:

• Respiratory difficulty
• Coughing
• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Loss of smell or taste
• Fever
• Muscle aches
• Tiredness
• Vomiting
• Shortness of breath
• Sore throat
• Runny nose

Infrequent symptoms include:

• Kidney failure
• Severe respiratory issues
• Death

Anyone experiencing these symptoms should call their healthcare provider or doctor and talk about their symptoms over the phone. Home rest and self-quarantine may be recommended if symptoms are mild enough. Call 911 immediately if you or a loved one experiences acute shortness of breath.
