TOMS RIVER, NJ, June 18, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vytautas Staknys has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A distinguished pianist known as "Frankie Finger," Mr. Staknys is a beloved New Jersey pianist who has entertained crowds for more than 50 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado from 1958, but has pursued a fulfilling career in music throughout his lifetime. Mr. Staknys attributes his success to the advice he dispenses to those hoping to follow in his footsteps; "If you have a hobby, try and pursue it."

Outside of his musical stylings, Mr. Staknys is a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He specialized as a naval medic, and was nicknamed by a fellow veteran at the Brick American Legion Hall after his service. From his years of service, Mr. Staknys now holds a life membership with the American Legion Post 504 in Jackson, New Jersey, of which he was named as the Post commander, and with the Brick Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8867.

Mr. Staknys, born and raised in Lithuania, began playing the piano by the age of five. His talents truly began to flourish as he came of age. During the turmoil of the Soviet Union's occupation of the Baltic region in the 1940s, his family fled to the United States. In spite of his traumas, however, Mr. Staknys has always had a piano nearby to provide him with the solace of a musical escape.
