A former military officer with more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Smith serves as the chairman of the board of directors for the Museum of Military History, a role he has held since 2004. As he toured around the country, he visited countless yard sales, where he would witness the lives of military personnel for sale; the thought of which truly bothered him. At this point that, Mr. Smith was inspired to preserve these artifacts, as well as his own, in the hopes that they would inspire and benefit others in the future.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Smith is affiliated with the Fleet Reserve, the Disabled Veterans of America and the Paternal Order of the Eagles. For his professional achievements, he was recognized as a Veteran of Influence in the Orlando Business Journal. He was additionally presented with the Outstanding Veteran of the Year Award in 2010 and 2019. Looking toward the future, Mr. Smith aims to continue his important work with the Museum of Military History.
