Benjamin Piacquadio has gained expertise in administration, fundraising, education, injury rehabilitation, sports psychology and nutrition.
NEW YORK, NY, August 31, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Benjamin Piacquadio has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Piacquadio's introduction to athletics began in middle school, where he enjoyed many positive experiences in sports. When he went to high school, he volunteered at his former middle school and soon became a coach. Upon graduating from Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts in history, he continued his unpaid efforts at the school. Together, with other alumni, he assisted in fundraising nearly $20,000 to renovate the school gym. In total, Mr. Piacquadio and the other alumni raised over $50,000 in renovations.
Later that year, Mr. Piacquadio's middle school, Saint Benedict School, offered him a teaching position, which launched his career as an athletic director. He has served as the athletic director of Saint Benedict School since 2012, and likewise serves as a social studies teacher and head basketball coach of girls' junior varsity at Preston High School. Mr. Piacquadio also holds a Master of Arts in middle and high school education from Lehman College, an advanced certificate in physical education administration and sports pedagogy from Manhanttanville College and an advanced certificate in educational leadership and administration from the College of New Rochelle.
At Saint Benedict School, Mr. Piacquadio has been deeply involved in extracurricular activities outside of athletics. To wit, he coordinated a spirit day where eighth-grade students competed against teachers, and sold school shirts in the school community to fundraise for the sports program. Today, the school has hosted spirit day for seven consecutive years. Mr. Piacquadio also organized the 90th anniversary for St. Benedict School.
Throughout his career, Mr. Piacquadio has gained expertise in administration, fundraising, education, injury rehabilitation, sports psychology and nutrition. Ultimately, he strives to be an educator who creates an environment that addresses many different kinds of learning styles. Mr. Piacquadio also employs collaborative learning techniques to help students manage information and technology in today's society.
For his many accomplishments as an educator and a leader, Mr. Piacquadio was named as the Educator of the Year by the Chippewa Democratic Club in 2017. He also will receive the Valiant Educator Award from Manhattanville College. Mr. Piacquadio attributes his professional success to his love and passion for his career and, specifically, for his school.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Piacquadio serves as a volunteer advancement coordinator for the Archdiocese of New York. He is also a founding board member and coach of the Throggs Neck Thunderboltz. He maintains his professional affiliation with the honorable society of Phi Alpha Theta. Looking toward the future, Mr. Piacquadio plans to move into a leadership role, such as a principal or administrator of sports.
