An esteemed figure in family medicine in the state of New Jersey, Dr. Liu had found much success as a family medicine practitioner for the Wellness Medical Center LLC in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, since 2010. She further flourished in the same capacity with the Hackensack University Medical Center since 2009 and the Saint Clare's Health System since 2007. During this time, she was additionally active as a family medicine practitioner at the Wellness Medical Center LLC in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, from 2007 to 2010 and the Wallington Clinic LLC from 2006 to 2008. Moreover, Dr. Liu remained affiliated with such organizations as the ACO, the SOMLS and the CCACO.

Dr. Liu previously excelled as a family medicine practitioner with Beverwyck Medical Associates LLC and the Saint Clare's Health System between 2005 and 2007. Prior to these positions, she served as a family medicine resident with the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and the Capital Health System from 2002 to 2005. She garnered firsthand experience in her field as a medical assistant operating out of the Medical & Dental Care Center in New York from 1998 to 2002. Dr. Liu began her career as an assistant professor at Guangzhou Medical University in China, teaching physiology to medical students and conducting research in Parkinson's disease between 1988 and 1990.

Before embarking on her professional ventures, Dr. Liu pursued an education at Guangzhou Medical University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1988. She continued her academic endeavors with graduate coursework in biology at the City University of New York from 1991 to 1992. She concluded her studies at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in neurosciences. Beyond these accomplishments, Dr. Liu has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 2006.

Inspired by her mother, Zhi Xian Ma, a former medical educator and microbiologist, Dr. Liu fondly recalled accompanying her mother to classrooms and autopsy rooms, in which she worked with and analyzed body tissues. Encouraged to become a doctor at a young age, she was subsequently motivated by such mentors as the renowned neurochemist Robert Ledeen, her residency director Martha Lansing, Dr. Henry Shaoli and Dr. Robert Wong. Dr. Liu notably attributes her success to her self-motivation, her positivity and her desire to be the best within her field.

As a testament to her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Liu accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. In 2019, she was recognized with an Outstanding Medical Services Award from Bergen County, New Jersey, the Outstanding Health Services Award from Bergen County Clerk John Hogan, a Certificate of Commendation from the Board of Chosen Freeholders for Bergen County and a Certificate of Commendation from Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton. She was also presented with a Good Samaritan Commendation from Continental Airlines in 2008; a Commendation from U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin in 2010, which she cites among her proudest professional moments; and the Family Physician of the Year Award from the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians in 2020. Likewise, Dr. Liu was honored as a Patients' Choice Winner by Opencare as well as among the Top Doctors of America in 2018, the Jersey Choice Top Doctors by her peers in 2017 and Cambridge Who's Who in 2007.

Dr. Liu contributed to those in need as an advocate as well, as she not only treated her patients for their medical ailments but empowered them to seize control of their own health in order to improve their own quality of life. Among the many highlights of her prolific career, she took great pride in her persistence and independence in her practice, having never given up in the face of financial and cultural hardship in addition to academic challenges. She passed away in January 2021.
