An accomplished listee, Mr. Hewitt celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. After enjoying more than a decade as a museum curator at the Presidential Museum in Odessa, Texas, Mr. Hewitt transitioned into local government. Accepting a position of a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in 2005, he loves working with the public while also being able to maintain a wonderful balance between his professional and personal lives. Early in his career, Mr. Hewitt worked as a shop hand for his uncle in the oil business.

Throughout his career at the museum, Mr. Hewitt notably authored numerous exhibit texts. Although he is no longer active in the field, he still enjoys his involvement in history in some capacity and genealogy research has become one of his favorite pastimes. Mr. Hewitt notably pursued at education ar Pacific Lutheran University completing coursework in the French horn and history before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in history and anthropology in 1986.

In his youth, Mr. Hewitt harbored a passion for the outdoors as well as for music, which was inspired by his parents. Beginning lessons in piano and violin during his formative years, he later discovered several other instruments, including the French horn, organ, hand bells, and guitar. He ultimately composed chamber music and arranged small ensemble music. Between 1992 and 2004, Mr. Hewitt performed as a member of the French horn section of the Odessa College Concert Band.

Mr. Hewitt subsequently utilized his talents to help his local community as a youth counselor and the director of the handbell choir for the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa. He was also active on the church's youth board as the director and treasurer and continues to operate as the leader of the brass ensemble, a substitute organist and the director of church properties. Mr. Hewitt's additional local commitments include serving as a member of the Aid Association of Lutherans, for which he once held the posts of a treasurer of the local branch and the vice president.

Mr. Hewitt was recognized with a John Philip Sousa Band Award from the Mead High School Band in Spokane, Washington, in 1982. That same year, he was appointed as a member of the All-State High School Band. While pursuing his bachelor's degree, he accepted the Don Jerke Leadership Award from Pacific Lutheran University in 1985. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Hewitt has been cited in the 54th through 58th editions of Who's Who in America and the 26th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
