Dr. Marlyn A. Morris Commended for Feats in Education

    PICKERING, ONTARIO, October 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Marlyn A. Morris has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A Legislative Reviewer and Legislative Drafter, Curriculum Developer, Educator, Certified Professional Coach and Coach Trainer. She worked as an International Consultant for many Caribbean Countries and Guyana South America, whose programs were supported by the UNDP, World Bank, EU-Commission. UN-Habitat and Organization of American States (OAS) grant funding.

With years of educational administrative experience to her credit, Dr. Morris excels as the proprietor and lead academic program facilitator of the Ontario College for Development Training, a private career enhancement training facility. Recognizing the need for culturally relevant pedagogy, she established the institution with the hopes of educating and preparing students for the rapidly evolving needs of industries in the face of constant globalization. Considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Morris believes critical thinking, creativity, innovativeness, research capabilities and a willingness to continuously learn are of paramount importance to pursuing career goals in the 21st century.

Throughout the course of her professional development, Dr. Morris has served as an educator, legislative reviewer, and drafter.; curriculum developer; and a transformation coach trainer, developing new forms of curricula to benefit the lives of her students. In addition to her current position, she is the director and lead consultant for Morris Training and Consultancy Services, the founding partner and program director of the Canadian Research Centre for Humanities and Science, the co-founder and head supervisor of Inspiring Life Solutions, a Transformation Coaching Unit of the Ontario College for Development Training, where she and her Training Facilitation Coaches train students as Certified Transformation Coach Practitioners and Certified Transformation Master Coaches. This training is offered to trainees in the areas of Parenting Coaching, Youth Empowerment Coaching, Women Empowerment Coaching, Seniors/Retirement Coaching, Executive Leadership and Management Coaching She was the previous Program Manager of the Centre of Excellence & Business Incubator of the Black Business and Professional Association of Toronto and Program Manager of the E-Campmentoring agency in Oshawa, Canada. And President of the International Vigor Unsung Heroes Awards, (Canada), which honors Unsung Heroes who are ordinary people doing extraordinary acts in helping others to thrive and prosper. As an innovator and proponent for change, Dr. Morris plans to apply her strategic programing and advisory skills on a global scale through the many organizations she has established.

Regarding her qualifications, Dr. Morris initially enrolled at the University of the West Indies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in geography and geology, cum laude, in 1979. Thriving under the higher education program of the aforementioned institute, she obtained a postgraduate diploma in education in 1981. Subsequently, Dr. Morris attained a Master of Science in urban development planning in 1989 and a Doctor of Philosophy in planning studies in 1993from the University of London. Likewise, in 2006, she earned a Bachelor of Laws, cum laude, from the University of Wolverhampton, and a certificate in legislative drafting from the Boston University School of Law. Dr Morris is also a Certified Life Coach.

Dr. Morris attributes her success to her propensity for humility, perseverance, and dedication to her work. She considers her professional training programs and the academic, emotional and social development of her students to be her most notable accomplishments. Dr. Morris aspires to continue in her edificatory endeavors, both domestically and internationally, in the near future, with a focus now on teachers, students and parents education, for raising resilient children and youth for sustainable and successful lifestyles in the 21st century and beyond.

She believes that Teacher education should include strategies of engagement in Teacher -Parent Partnership for Raising Resilient and Successful Students. She believes that such an approach should focus on developing, strategies for the students' Readiness to Learn, Managing Conflicts, and Bullyism and Academic Success; Social and Emotional Learning Strategies for ensuring the student's social well-being at home and school; Mindfulness training for teachers and students; Culturally relevant pedagogy in schools and conscious nurturing and socialization for raising authentic, resilient and successful children and youth, based on a teacher-parent and school partnership.
