John Russell Guill Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Guill has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fields of architecture and academia

SANTA ROSA, CA, November 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Russell Guill with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Guill celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A registered architect, Mr. Guill has served as the principal and a partner of DTR Consulting Services Inc. since 2013. Aligned with the organization for over a decade, he has accrued over three decades of extensive architectural and engineering expertise with a vast portfolio that includes proficiency in construction specifications, roofing, waterproofing, construction product research and materials selection. Collaborating on projects that range from corporate and private buildings to civic, educational and other governmental establishments, he is actively engaged as a member of DTR's building sciences division, which uses hygrothermal modeling to ensure exterior construction assemblies are built properly. Mr. Guill also works closely with the design team with respect to project-delivery methods and building information modeling.

Prior to his current commitments at DTR, Mr. Guill gained recognition with AXIA Architects as a technical architect, specifier and project architect. He was also employed by Quattrocchi Kwok Architects as an associate architect and chief specifier. Additionally, Mr. Guill contributed in the classroom as a lecturer at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and Sonoma State University. He remains a frequent speaker on various architecture, engineering and construction topics.

Mr. Guill spent 14 years as a volunteer Adult Leader and Assistant Scoutmaster (ASM) in his local Boy Scouts of America Troop. Along with other leaders in the troop, Mr. Guill mentored over 60 boys to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Guill taught several Merit Badge courses, including Wilderness Survival, Camping and Architecture. Professionally, Mr. Guill has been engaged as a member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC). He is also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), where he once served on the local chapter board of directors.

A lifelong resident of California, Mr. Guill came of age on a 100-plus acre farm, where he learned to drive a tractor and pick fruit. Upon entering college, he planned to study landscape architecture, but was quickly advised by his professors to consider a career in building architecture, since he was well versed in mathematics and physics. Heeding their advice, Mr. Guill earned a Bachelor of Science in construction, cum laude, at California State University, Fresno in 1981. He later became a licensed architect in the state of California, and a Certified Construction Specifier and Construction Contract Administrator through the CSI.

Mr. Guill's professional career has been recognized with awards from such organizations as the Coalition for Adequate School Housing. He notably received an AIA Award for the design of an elementary school and several honors from the CSI, including a Fellowship in the Institute. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Guill has been cited in the 24th and 25th editions of Who's Who in the West.
