Dr. Raymond Struyk Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Economics

Dr. Struyk serves as a senior advisor of the China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University



    WASHINGTON, DC, December 11, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Raymond Struyk has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than five decades of professional excellence to his credit, Dr. Struyk has excelled as a senior advisor of the China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University since 2016 and a fellow of the Results for Development Institute since 2012. A senior fellow of NORC at the University of Chicago from 2007 to 2012, he was previously the chief of party of Chemonics International from 2006 to 2007, the director of the transition policy network on behalf of the Urban Institute from 1997 to 2000, a senior fellow of The Urban Institute from 1993 to 2006, a resident director of the Housing Sector Reform Project from 1992 to 1998 and the founding director of the Center for International Activities from 1983 to 1993. Dr. Struyk contributed to The Urban Institute as the director of the Center for Housing and Community Development Research from 1981 to 1982, a senior research associate from 1980 to 1981 and a senior research associate from 1972 to 1977.

A former deputy assistant secretary for research at the Office of Policy Development and Research of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development from 1977 to 1979, Dr. Struyk excelled as a visiting assistant professor of economics at Rice University from 1971 to 1972 and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research from 1968 to 1972. To prepare for his career, he pursued an education at Quincy College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1965. Dr. Struyk continued his studies earning a Doctor of Philosophy in economics from the Washington University in St. Louis in 1968.

Notably, Dr. Struyk served as a combat engineer in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, including service in Vietnam. As a testament to his success and longevity in the field of economics, he has been elected for inclusion regularly since 1978 in Who's Who in America, in Who's Who in Finance and Business International in 2010, and was in the first group of experts named by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation. Passionate about his career, Dr. Struyk maintains affiliation with such organizations as the Institute for Urban Economics in Russia and the Metropolitan Research Institute in Budapest.
