Originally intent on pursuing a career in federal law enforcement, Mr. Duffrin later decided to branch off into the field of law and has never looked back. After working as a criminal prosecutor in Mahoning County, Ohio for twelve years, including eight years as the chief prosecutor for the organized-drug-crime task force, for which he prosecuted complex drug trafficking, gang and racketeering cases. Drawing upon his considerable expertise, Mr. Duffrin currently excels as an attorney with Whalen Duffrin LLC, with which he has litigated criminal cases involving allegations of tax evasion, fraud, bank robbery, hate crimes and murder in both the state and federal courts since 2008. Mr. Duffrin has also litigated civil cases involving personal injury, contract disputes, and employment law. Additionally, Mr. Duffrin serves the Law Director for the City of Louisville, Ohio.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Duffrin earned a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University prior to graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Akron. Following these accomplishments, he was admitted to practice law in the States of California and Ohio. Mr. Duffrin is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Driven to remain aware of ongoing developments in the field of law, Mr. Duffrin is a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Stark County Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Ohio Municipal League and the Nathaniel R. Jones Inn of Court.
