Throughout the course of his career in medicine, Dr. Lerner is most proud of a paper he wrote as a fellow called "Treatment of Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura." After it was published, the paper set the standard of care in the industry for the next 20 years.

To remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Lerner maintains his affiliation with various organizations relevant to his expertise. Among them, he has been a member of the Westchester County Medical Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Heart Association, Inc., the American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians.
