An accomplished listee, Ms. Olmsted celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Olmsted is a visual artist and fine art photographer who also spent years in academia teaching as an associate professor at the San Francisco Art Institute. A professor emeritus since 2011, she taught on campus in the departments of printmaking, photography, inter-media and foundations for 15 years. Apart from her years in academia, Ms. Olmsted garnered a reputation in the field, showcasing her talents as a photo editor for The Current in Phoenix, as an artist-in-residence for the City of Tempe, Arizona, and as the executive director for Artlink in Phoenix.

An expert in traditional print and photographic art, Ms. Olmsted is also well-versed in digital, analog and mixed media photography. In retirement, Ms. Olmsted has been concentrating more on non-toxic methods of etching and silk screening.

Ms. Olmsted was born in Palo Alto, California. She began drawing at the age of 7 and became particularly interested in visual art. After high school, she studied locally, becoming an alumnus of the University of California Santa Cruz, where she received Bachelor of Arts in art, design and printmaking in 1979.
