Since 2018, Mr. LaBorde has excelled as the senior safety specialist of EthosEnergy Louisiana Station. With more than 30 years of experience in industrial health and safety, he focuses on training power plant employees to implement a series of vital safety protocols into their daily tasks. As a special Government employee (SGE), Mr. LaBorde also assists the Occupational Health and Safety Administration in performing audits at other industrial facilities within the area.
Prior to his recruitment with EthosEnergy Louisiana Station, Mr. LaBorde worked as the regional safety director for Primoris Industrial Constructors. From 2005 until 2014, he served as a safety manager at Zachry Industrial, Inc. Mr. LaBorde had previously begun his career in the power industry at Triad Electric & Controls Inc., where he refined his skills as a project safety manager for more than 10 years.
Due to his continuous implementation of effective safety practices at Zachry Industrial, Mr. LaBorde was selected for the company's Heart of Zachry Award on eight occasions. He attributes his success to his passion for protecting the lives of his colleagues as well as his natural desire to avoid the common workplace accidents that he witnessed during the 1980s while employed at an offshore oil field. In the near future, Mr. LaBorde intends to retire while maintaining his responsibilities as a SGE.
