Mr. Tomblin has excelled as the Executive Director of the Boone Memorial Hospital's Brighter Futures Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment Program in Madison, WV since 2019. In this position, he provides extensive value as an experienced outpatient clinic administrator, manager and expert in substance use disorder. Among his various responsibilities, Mr. Tomblin oversees a handful of providers, therapists and other staff members as well as financial and operational aspects of the program to ensure continued success. He also serves as the Director of the Boone County Quick Response Team. This team is comprised of Peer Recovery Coaches, Law Enforcement, and EMS. They are trained to respond to overdose victims within a 72-hour period to provide information on recovery options and referral to treatment.
Recognizing that West Virginia has seen a significant portion of its population leave the state due to an economic turndown, Mr. Tomblin hopes to establish significant change to reduce these trends. Doing his part by helping stabilize the mental health of residents, he is passionate about substance use crisis intervention and reducing the deteriorating health of West Virginia citizens. Furthermore, Mr. Tomblin aspires to acquire a leading role in the health care sector where he can better influence society as a whole, possibly in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer for a local hospital or other healthcare facilities.
Mr. Tomblin was formerly active as a coordinator for the Partners in Health Network and Urology Practice Administrator with the Charleston Area Medical Center Health System in Charleston, West Virginia from 2014 to 2017. He subsequently served as a Physician Practice Manager for Boone Memorial Hospital before being promoted to his current position in 2019.
Supporting his professional and civic initiatives, Mr. Tomblin has worked as a board member for the Logan Chamber of Commerce since 2018. He has also contributed as a board member for the Regional Family Resource Network and a former board member for the Coalfield Health Center-Federally Qualified Health Center. Additionally, Mr. Tomblin has been affiliated with Aracoma Lodge #99, Beni Kedem Shriners of Shriners International, and the Rotary International.
Mr. Tomblin is an alumnus of Marshall University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in healthcare in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration in 2014. As a testament to his success, he was recognized among the Generation Next 40 Under 40 in West Virginia in 2019. Mr. Tomblin was also celebrated in the Leadership West Virginia Class of 2019 and Leadership Logan Class of 2016.
