Possessing a career that began over 15 years ago in his birth country of Kuwait, Mr. Khan gained recognition as an electronics/network technician for Kuwait International Airport, as a technical support engineer for Computer Data Network, and as a network operation engineer and network security engineer of international operations for Zajil-Telecom until 2013. Once he arrived in the United States, he was acquired by Apogee Telecom in Austin, Texas, as a network engineer; Aetna in Hartford, Connecticut, as a senior firewall engineer; and the Children's Hospital Association in Washington, D.C., as an administrator of network systems and security. Mr. Khan then relocated to Virginia in 2016, where he held leading roles with TruShield Security Solutions, Inc., Verizon, HMSHost and, just prior to his current position, OnDeck as a senior information security engineer during 2019.
Among his many achievements, Mr. Khan worked on the SIEM Optimization Project with JP Morgan Chase. He also successfully completed several major projects for the Children's Hospital Association and other organizations. As a leader in the industry, Mr. Khan enjoys helping others excel and has had the opportunity to mentor and encourage the younger generation to pursue careers in cybersecurity. In the future, he aspires to establish his own consultancy firm to further help industries across various sectors.
Inspired by both his father and uncle, who both worked in technology, Mr. Khan grew up exposed to computers and various technologies at an early age. He also holds several certifications in his field, including as a Certified Information Security Manager, Project Management Professional, Certified Ethical Hacker and Microsoft Certified Professional, as well as in risk and information systems. Mr. Khan is fluent in English, Arabic and Urdu.
As a testament to his success in the industry, Mr. Khan was selected for an On Con Icon Top 50 Information Security Award from On Conference in 2021.
