AURORA, CO, December 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The nonprofit was founded in November of 1991 and has served as the State Office of Rural Health and the State Rural Health Association.

The Colorado Rural Health Center began as a coalition of partners who decided to incorporate as a nonprofit in order to ensure that the organization's focus could remain on rural. CRHC had one employee and one federal grant. Today, CRHC works with Federal, state, and local partners to offer services and resources to rural healthcare providers, facilities and communities. In 2020, CRHC invested a record 5.56 million dollars in rural communities across the state.

"I'm proud to say that we've come a long way in 30 years and have continued to serve with the same mission to enhance healthcare services in the state by providing information, education, linkages, tools, and energy toward addressing rural health issues," said CRHC's CEO, Michelle Mills. "We still carry out the vision to improve healthcare services available in rural communities to ensure that all rural Coloradoans have access to comprehensive, affordable, high quality healthcare."

The organization recently celebrated the anniversary with a reception at the Annual Rural Health Conference. Attendees were able to gather in person, in accordance with all local, state, and federal safety guidelines, to celebrate with a rural Colorado beer, commemorative glass wear, and celebratory toasts to the last 30 years and to the next!
