Ms. Abdo previously owned and operated Feng Shui 2 Bliss in West Hills between 2010 and 2019, and served as a senior designer for UltraGlas Inc. from 1997 to 2011, supervising many expensive and noteworthy glass installation projects. A natural artist and designer, she worked her way through the ranks doing artwork and merchandising design for Disney, Warner Brothers, and Universal Studios as an account representative for Zak Designs, as well as previously serving as an assistant art director for Malibu Grand Prix.
Always interested in metaphysics since childhood, nature, beauty, and mystery have been her biggest inspirations. She slowly made a transition from the visual to the healing arts, fascinated with how color could change the energy in a space. With her metaphysical and artistic abilities, she especially enjoyed transforming a home-with draining energy-to one that feels inspiring, beautiful, and energizing. Her goal in life is to teach people how to live in harmony with nature that utilizes not only Feng Shui principles, but also nature's hidden gifts.
Always interested in philosophy and esoteric subjects, Ms. Abdo's research resulted in her first book "Wisdom For a New Era: 80 Meditations to Live By," published in 2020 during the Covid pandemic. It includes 80 meditations that relate to her life experiences, encouraging others to achieve balance, and open their minds and hearts to new ways of looking at life. Her father was a writer who inspired her to see the world as an adventure to be discovered. He also helped her to respect the power of language, its subtleties and poetry. Her future plans include more illustrated books, and a YouTube channel called "Secret Shaman" devoted to understanding the mysteries of life.
Ms. Abdo studied graphic design at the West Valley Occupational Center in 1978 before earning a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts, cum laude, at California State University, Northridge in 1985. She additionally obtained advanced certifications in Feng Shui, and Zi Wei Dou Shu (a form of Chinese astrology), through the American Feng Shui Institute. She is also a licensed esthetician, certified yoga instructor, Reiki, and Psyche-K facilitator.
Ms. Abdo received a coveted Parent's Choice Award from the Parent's Choice Foundation in 1999. She was also recognized with a Congressional Order of Merit in 2006.
