SPRING HILL, FL, January 24, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Malieri Colon-Rivera has been included in Marquis Who's Who. In her youth, Dr. Colon-Rivera decided that she would eventually become a doctor. As she grew older, she cemented that decision and pursued an undergraduate degree that aligned with her medical aspirations. After earning a Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autonoma of Guadalajara, Dr. Colon-Rivera completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology through the University of Puerto Rico, became licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Puerto Rico, and was certified in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Colon-Rivera began her career in the field of obstetrics and gynecology with Suncoast Women's Care. Backed by her considerable professional expertise, she currently excels as a physician with Hospital Corporation of America, through which she provides preventative care and remains on-call for the labor and delivery unit. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, Dr. Colon-Rivera is affiliated with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Florida Medical Association and the College of Physicians in Puerto Rico.
Although her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Colon-Rivera is incredibly proud of going above and beyond the call of duty. When she was a resident, their program for gynecological cancer patients was in danger because there was not enough funding to have this service operating properly. She subsequently took the initiative of making this problem known during their meeting with the department, a group of attending physicians, patients and Dr. Colon-Rivera proceeded to present this issue to the public hearing of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico, who credited the funds to preserve the aforementioned program. In the near future, Dr. Colon-Rivera intends to become a community physician and mentor.
