GOLETA, CA, February 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathryn D. McKee has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Ms. McKee earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 1959 and went on to attain certifications as a senior professional in human resources (SHRM) and as an SHRM certified professional. She began her career as a compensation manager for Mattel Inc. in 1963 and held the same position for Twentieth-Century Fox Film, starting in 1975. In 1980, Ms. McKee subsequently became the senior vice president of compensation and benefits for First Interstate Bancorp until 1986, whereupon she moved to become the senior vice president of human resources for First Interstate Bank Ltd.
Ms. McKee continued her career as the senior vice president of human resources with Standard Chartered Bank from 1993 until 1995, at which point she worked for the National Institute for Prevention of Workplace Violence Inc. She also consulted on behalf of Right Management between 1997 and 2010. From 2001 to 2012, Ms. McKee began working in media relations for Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara Inc., during which time she began working as an instructor for USCB, a role she continues to maintain into the present day.
Starting in 1996, while pursuing other roles, Ms. McKee has served as the owner of Human Resources Consortia. She also held membership with the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, as a board chair for the Santa Barbara chapter of the Red Cross, a trustee for the UCSB Foundation and a board member for the Santa Barbara Human Resources Association. In addition to her main career path, Ms. McKee has authored or co-authored human resources articles, including "Leading People Through Disasters," "When the Schoolyard Bully Comes to Work" and "How Do we Get from There to Here?"
In recognition of her dedication, Ms. McKee was honored with an Exemplary Service Award from the UCSB College of Engineering in 2007. Having long demonstrated a high level of compassion for others, she was inspired to pursue human resources leadership by a colleague while working at Mattel Inc. Looking toward the future, Ms. McKee plans to inspire the next generation of human resources professionals as an instructor while continuing her own career.
