In addition, she completed an internship at a cardiac catheterization laboratory upon arriving in the United States in 2001. Witnessing the procedures performed by her mentors is what further kindled Dr. Cotiga's interest in the field of cardiology.
During the early years of her career, Dr. Cotiga gained valuable expertise in the field as a physician with St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center between 2001 and 2009. Backed by her considerable knowledge, she currently excels as an attending physician with Medicor Cardiology and a physician specializing in cardiology for Atlantic Medical Group. Dr. Cotiga previously obtained a Doctor of Medicine from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Cotiga is affiliated with the Heart Rhythm Society, the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Heart Association. Outside of her primary responsibilities, she contributes to those in need through the Romanian Orthodox Church as well as a founding member and board member with DOR. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, she is incredibly proud of promoting Romanian artists and culture in the United States.
