Originally established in North Webster, Indiana, in 2012, he has since branched out to incorporate a second location in Syracuse, Indiana. The success of his business has largely been due to his passion for the field and his devotion to his Christian faith. Over the course of a decade, Mr. Richards has led Pro Wake Watersports to revenues in excess of $6.5 million.
Pro Wake Watersports provides an array of services to boat owners, from custom detailing and restoration to storage and service. In addition to Mr. Richards' 11-acre property, which houses 65,000 square feet of inside storage, he owns two large buildings offsite to accommodate the business. He also sells merchandise onsite and online through Pro Wake Surf Shop. Overseeing every aspect of the company's success, Mr. Richards is known for taking a hands-on approach regarding management, customer service and more.
Prior to his success with Pro Wake, Mr. Richards served as a sales and finance manager for Bell Marine Inc. between 2006 and 2010 and, for several years, garnered experience in kitchen and bathroom design. He was also a professional, Class A Professional Golf Association (PGA) member for five years after working as an assistant at several area golf courses. Mr. Richards notably began playing golf at the age of five with his father and brother, and later played competitively in high school in Naples, Florida, where he successfully led his team to an undefeated season his senior year.
Mr. Richards is active in his community as a board director of the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Richards previously served on various other boards of directors and advisory boards, and has contributed significantly to several nonprofit organizations throughout the community and county, including the Lakeland Youth Center.
A former student of the University of Central Florida, Mr. Richards completed three years of schooling and played division one golf between 1987 and 1990. Celebrating his subsequent success, he received numerous accolades, including Salesman of the Year, Marine Industry CSI Dealer Award for Excellence in Sales and Service, and Social Media Dealer of the Year. Mr. Richards' business was also recognized as the Top Small Business of the Year and the Top Large Business of the Year by the North Webster Township Chamber of Commerce.
