Since obtaining the role in 2011, she closely works with the neuro-critical care team to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of medications to optimize patient care. She also monitors patients admitted to the intermediate ICU, as well as on the general floor. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Neurocritical Care Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
Although her career has been filled with standout moments, Dr. Patel is incredibly proud of working with the same institution for the last ten years. Her length of service has allowed her to build a rapport with providers and nurses. Additionally, she is now able to provide guidance to students and residents. In the coming years, Dr. Patel aims to be more involved in research and contribute to publications, liaise more with local and national memberships and collaborate with other individuals in the field.
