Drawing on over a decade of expertise, Ms. Leeper has found much success as an English teacher and a cross-country coach. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at Angelo State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in kinesiology, in 2013. As a commitment to her field, Ms. Leeper is a certified personal trainer, and has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine, the San Angelo Bicycle Association and the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
Ms. Leeper began her vocation as a group fitness instructor at Angelo State University from 2011 to 2013. Between 2013 and 2015, she garnered expertise as a teacher and a coach at McCamey High School. Since 2015, she has built a prolific career serving as an English teacher, the head cross country coach and an assistant track coach at Lake View High School. In this capacity, Ms. Leeper is responsible for educating different levels of English to high school students, grading papers, early morning cross country practices and meets, and establishing the girl's offseason soccer and track programs. Ms. Leeper enjoys the days when she runs with her cross country team early in the mornings, "especially when we get to take pictures of the sunrises. Because it's not always about running, but about loving ourselves and our team and the world around us."
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Leeper serves as a nursery volunteer at Paulann Baptist Church. Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud to have practiced and modeled her own high expectations and standards when teaching and coaching young adults, as well as helping them build good characteristics and strong work ethics. Ms. Leeper attributes much of her success to Brittany Sanchez, who served as her student teaching coordinating instructor, and to setting high but attainable expectations for her students.
