METHUEN, MA, June 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joseph G. Bella with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Bella celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After more than 30 years with the Department of Employment and Training for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Mr. Bella retired in 2002. During his lengthy career, he assisted veterans seeking job training and employment. A veteran himself, Mr. Bella notably served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam between 1965 and 1967 where he specialized in field artillery. Previously, he worked for the automotive manufacturer Craig Systems in North Andover, Massachusetts. He also worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Western Electric.

Civically engaged, Mr. Bella has been involved with a multitude of groups and local organizations that focus on the historical significance of New England. Greatly influenced by Ernest Mac, a local historian, and Joseph Montalto, his uncle and World War II veteran, Mr. Bella is presently the secretary for the Lawrence Civil War Memorial Guard, a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 902, the St. Alfio Society, his local American Legion and the Methuen Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also a color guard who is celebrated each year in his town's Memorial Day Parade and is a volunteer for the annual Beautification Day where he places flags on the gravesites of veterans at two area cemeteries. Mr. Bella has also notably served as the commissioner of the Methuen Historic District Commission, as the chair of the Methuen Historical Commission and as the past president of the Friends of Lawrence Heritage State Park and the Lawrence History Center.

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Bella received an associate degree in history from Northern Essex Community College in 1974. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Bella was twice awarded as an American Legion Local Veterans Employment Representative of the Year in 1995 and 1998, which is bestowed upon individuals who have assisted veterans in attaining the most jobs throughout the state.
