Having garnered extensive experience in concept, schematic design, and design development, Mr. Mehring joined Wolcott Architecture in Los Angeles in 2015 as a junior designer. Specializing in bridging the gap between fabrication and design, he oversees various projects from their initial concept all the way through to construction. Mr. Mehring also secures permits, works closely with contractors and, among other responsibilities, manages client relationships.
A boutique firm, Wolcott Architecture has been recognized across many different industries for providing various architecture and interior design services for clients. Supported by various in-house teams, Wolcott also focuses on creating sustainable designs that will benefit clients for years to come. Mr. Mehring, who plans to remain with Wolcott for the rest of his career, aspires to begin building his own team, through which he can provide leadership and expertise to interns and oncoming designers and architects. Additionally, he aims to establish an operations platform that focuses on a strong team dynamic, and collaborate more with senior leadership to continually grow and achieve company goals.
Finding constant inspiration in leaders who have come before him, Mr. Mehring is especially grateful to the principal partner at Wolcott Architecture, Carlos Carrasquillo. Since joining the organization, Mr. Carrasquillo has been instrumental in his success by providing significant mentorship and investing much of his time in collaborating with Mr. Mehring on design projects and presentations.
Mr. Mehring developed an interest in art while in high school. Studying at the Singapore American School while living abroad with his family, he became especially intrigued by sculpture and 3D designs. After graduating, Mr. Mehring returned to the U.S., where he achieved a Bachelor of Architecture at Woodbury University in Burbank, California, in 2015.
In addition to his full-time career at Wolcott Architecture, Mr. Mehring serves as a manager for Somewhere Something. Recognizing his achievements in the industry, Mr. Mehring has been the recipient of numerous Awards, Lighting Awards, and Landscape design Awards; most recently the Calibre award for Pasarroyo in Pasadena, California.
