Leonard Christopher Ramirez has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Mr. Ramirez is the founder and executive director of a nonprofit transitional housing facility in California



    CONCORD, CA, July 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leonard Christopher Ramirez has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After leading an accomplished career in the military and law enforcement, Mr. Ramirez founded the Veterans Accession House, a nonprofit organization that provides Service Intensive Transitional Housing (SITH) to veterans experiencing homelessness and to those at risk of homelessness in Contra Costa County since 2016. As the executive director, he manages administrative operations, supervises a case management program, collaborates with a board composed principally of veterans, performs public outreach and liaisons with fellow public service providers, and writes grants to sustain program operations.

Additionally, he regularly meets with local public officials to promote and grow the Veterans Accession House, which is currently contracted with a grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Ramirez also aspires to advance the Veterans Accession House which presently includes three transitional homes, to establish a future veteran's village that will offer transitional and permanent housing for Veterans and Veteran families.

In addition to his responsibilities with the Veterans Accession House, Mr. Ramirez served as a consultant for the San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Program and the Department of Veterans Affairs on matters related to batterers intervention programs and facilitated groups working directly with court mandated attendees. He is also an adjunct instructor at Los Medanos College where he teaches corrections and criminal investigations courses. Mr. Ramirez was also recruited to the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Equal Employment Opportunity, seated as the Veterans' employment practices representative.

Mr. Ramirez recently concluded his role as a peer support specialist for San Francisco Veterans Affairs in 2019. He was additionally appointed to the County Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Commission, served as a deputy sheriff for the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, was employed with the Contra Costa County Juvenile Probation Department and was a consultant and private provider to law enforcement agencies regarding training in officer-involved domestic violence and conflict management. He notably dedicated three decades of his career as a member of law enforcement. Furthermore, Mr. Ramirez served his country in the U.S. Marines and Army. He advanced through the enlisted ranks to Sergeant First Class before advancing to become a Chief Warrant Officer, retiring at the rank of CW3. During his career in the Military Intelligence Corps, he deployed and led troops as a field Tactical HUMINT Team Leader, twice led field offices as a Counterintelligence Special Agent in Charge and ending his career as an Operational Management Team leader in the U.S. Army Reserves.

As a part of his commitments to the military, Mr. Ramirez maintains his association with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and established and serves as the Commander for the Concord Post of the Disabled American Veterans of California. He prepared for his career by earning an Associate of Arts in psychology at Los Medanos College, received a master instructor certification through the San Diego Regional Training Center and will be completing a double major with a Bachelor of Arts in human development and sociology both at San Francisco State, and California State University East Bay of California.

For his contributions to the military, Mr. Ramirez was decorated with a Bronze Star Medal and two Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals and assorted lesser awards. Among other recognitions, he was further celebrated with a Humanitarian Service Medal, an Afghan Campaign Medal (OEF), two Iraqi Campaign Medals (OIF and OIN), the Kosovo Force Medal (KFOR) Peace Keeping Mission, and several Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medals.
