Marquis Who's Who Selects James Bvone "Pete" Miller for Success in Ministry and Counseling

Mr. Miller attributes more than 25 years to his success in ministerial and counseling services



    GREENSBURG, IN, September 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Bvone "Pete" Miller has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After years of practicing law as an attorney, Mr. Miller changed the trajectory of his career by returning to school to pursue counseling. Despite his affinity for the law and belief in truth and justice, he discovered that the system was more about power, money and politics and did not align with his principles. Although it was a difficult decision, Mr. Miller sought to find a profession better suited for him, one that would allow him to be more personally connected with people.

Today, Mr. Miller is both a counselor and minister who has been serving the Indianapolis community for more than 25 years. He was also a counselor and case manager on behalf of the Community Education Center at Liberty Hall in Indianapolis. Previously, Mr. Miller was involved with Southside Pastoral Counseling and South Indy Pastoral Counseling.

An expert in counseling patients on relationships, Mr. Miller has notably advised more than 300 married couples throughout his career. He has also been instrumental in helping those with a wide variety of crisis issues, has been active with the youth population and has assisted countless individuals recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Additionally, Mr. Miller has served as a life coach, where he has focused on the personal development of his clients.

Mr. Miller established a local charity called James' Needs Ministry. He is also in the process of forming The More Charitable Trust. His future goals include helping the homeless people of the community and offering free counseling services for challenged youth. Among other civic involvement, Mr. Miller was a minister and counselor for the Jail and Prison Ministry through Vineyard Community Church, a continuing gratuitous counselor for the poor for the Bridge Over Troubled Waters Counseling Ministry and previously was an Associate Pastor of pastoral counseling at the Brown County Christian Center. Additionally, Mr. Miller is avid about giving back by donating money to the poor communities in the Philippines, Pakistan, Kenya and India.

In addition to practicing law for over a decade, Mr. Miller taught and coached basketball and football for the Indianapolis Public School District and was an adjunct professor at Indiana University and Purdue University. A talented writer, he authored "Here Is a Man: Fist First for Faith" and co-authored "Christianity in a Postmodern World." Mr. Miller also authored a book of poetry and was both a lyricist and composer of two CDs: "Jim's Precious Gems with Friends!" and "Miller Time."

Notably, Mr. Miller served nearly 20 years in the Indiana National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve and seven years as a Judge Advocate General and the Post Judge Advocate for various posts in the U.S. Army Reserve. He received a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Indianapolis, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University. Furthermore, Mr. Miller received a Master of Arts in both Religion and Counseling, cum laude, at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University, became a licensed minister through Vineyard Community Church and became ordained through the Brown County Christian Center.

In 1975, Mr. Miller was honored with recognition as the Teacher of the Year. Mr. Miller was also nominated for the prestigious Jefferson Award for Community Service in Indianapolis. Moreover, he won the Indianapolis Senior Mini Olympics in 2017, which was sponsored by Oak Street Health, where he finished in first place among more than 100 other competitors. Reflecting on his many professional and personal accomplishments, Mr. Miller hopes to be remembered as being someone who made a difference, was genuine and was passionate about the needs of others.
